beschermen van nieuw leven

Protecting new life

We have a direct impact on the world which these children live in and will grow up in with our philosophy about life, the stories we tell and the choices we make. That’s why protecting new life is an important spearhead within NINE & Co.

Safe for you and your little one

REACH

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction. It’s a European regulation regarding the production of, and trade in, chemical substances. NINE & Co will not use any of the substances listed in the REACH guidelines.

CHILD SAFETY REGULATIONS

The European Child Safety Alliance was founded in 2000 with the ambition to make children’s lives safer. NINE & Co follows this organisation’s guidelines and has also included this in the Code of Conduct. Noppies’ baby and children’s clothing is therefore the safest choice.

Safe bonding

We want every child in the Netherlands to enjoy a healthy, safe and good start in life. Safe bonding is of the utmost importance to a child. Effective bonding will allow a child to develop a sense of basic trust and basic safety. Good bonding with parents during those initial years of life is essential for a child’s successful social-emotional, language and cognitive development.

Children who feel safely bonded will develop more self-confidence and feel worthwhile. This safe initial bonding will also make sure children can bond with others and will subsequently learn to trust others too. Children who have effectively bonded will usually interact positively with their peers later on in life and will be capable of building close relationships.

The most important period for bonding between and child and his/her parents are the first 1000 days: nine months of pregnancy and the first two years of life.

Manifest 1001 Kritieke Dagen

Research has unfortunately shown that 30-40% of children in the Netherlands don’t have this safe bonding experience. NINE & Co has entered into a collaboration with the Manifest 1001 Critical Days in order to contribute to this. This is an initiative set up by the Dutch Association of Pedagogues and Educationalists (DAPE), the Dutch Institute of Psychologists (DIP), the Baby Work Foundation and the Dutch Association for Infant Mental Health (DAIMH). We will organise activities to make parents more resilient and help reduce stress, especially in the first 1000 days, together with organisations in the Manifest.
